The Consensus of Market Estimates is calculated by FactSet and is based on the earnings projections made by brokers covering Inbev. Any opinions, estimates or forecasts regarding Inbev's performance made by such brokers (and therefore the Consensus figures) are theirs alone and do not represent opinions, forecasts or predictions of Inbev or its Management. Convergence consensus: Brokers generally revise their estimates for a firm every time it publishes its results in order to take account of the new information. Even so, a difference between broker estimates and the company’s actual results can persist, notably because the treatment of certain accounting elements may differ. The treatment of exceptional items is a good example. FactSet Estimates terms the consensus of estimates after the publication of results the ‘convergence consensus’. It is available between one and several weeks after the publication of results, the delay depending on the firm’s size and the speed of brokers’ adjustments. Where there is no ambiguity over a figure published by the company (sales, dividend, etc), FactSet Estimates integrates it as ‘Actual’ data. Other data remain consensus figures, as explained above.
